SOME TIPS FOR PLANNING A MUSEUM VISIT

  • Plan and book your visit well in advance.
  • Confirm your bookings about week before the visit. Notify us of any changes in the date or time of the visit, or size of the group.
  • Allow enough time to visit our museum (at least 1 hour for the McGregor Museum) and do not try to visit too many museums on one day
  • Limit the size of your group. Larger groups will be split and asked to wait outside the museum, wasting a lot of time. If you have a very large group in two buses, consider taking each bus to a different museum and then rotating the groups.
  • Use a museum guide, so that the children learn as much as possible.
  • Older children (from Grade 6) learn more in our museum, as many aspects of the school curriculum are covered in our displays.
  • Unruly behaviour will not be tolerated. Teachers MUST accompany the group and are responsible for discipline and translation, if necessary.
